One death, of a woman aged 90 due to coronavirus, announced today the Ministry of Health, while the new positive incidents reached 953.
specifically:
- One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 384.
- 190 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 44 are in serious condition. 89.5% of nurses have no history of vaccination.
- A total of 73,011 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 953 (positivity rate: 1.31%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 89,410.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
One person who has died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concerns:
- Woman, aged 90, who ended up in Famagusta General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 384, of which:
- 256 men (67%), and
- 128 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77.2 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 190 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 44 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 44 patients in serious condition, 19 are intubated, in an Intensive Care Unit and 25 in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 73,011 diagnoses currently carried out, 8,260 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 64,751 using the antigen rapid test, 953 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 83 cases from 945 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 13 cases from 2,903 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 131 cases from 4,012 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 12 cases from 276 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 124 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through public health clinics.
- 62 cases from 1,997 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 650 cases from 62,754 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In detail, the rapid antigen detection tests were carried out today as follows:
