TUI - CANCELLATION OF TOURIST PACKAGES TO CYPRUS FROM BRITAIN

 Filenews 14 June 2021

Cancellations of tourist packages scheduled at least until early July were carried out by booking company TUI amid uncertainty over the UK government's "green list" of tourist destinations.

The decision was taken after Jet2 cancelled all its international and tourist flights until 1 July, and while Easyjet is "reviewing" its timetable.

TUI's decision also affects our country, as the tourist packages that were closed until the beginning of July for Cyprus and for nine Greek destinations are cancelled.

More specifically, according to the Daily Mail cited by Travel Weekly, TUI cancelled tourist packages:

- Until 4 July in: Greece - Crete (Chania), Kavala, Kefalonia, Mykonos, Preveza, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Thessaloniki, but also in Aruba, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, Jamaica, Malta, Spain - Mainland Spain, Formedera, Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, La Palma, and all scheduled holidays to destinations in the category "lakes and mountains".

- Until 11 July in: Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Mexico, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey.

The company also cancelled all tourist packages including third-party flights to Indonesia, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand and the UAE until July 11.

It has already been forced to cancel bookings before during the pandemic, so it is believed the latest decision is an attempt to avoid losing more money.
