In spite of what happened, the Fire Department extinguished the fire that threatened Chrysochous Town High School this morning. The fire, which threatened the school, broke out from an adjacent field, into which students threw firecrackers and smoke to celebrate the end of the school year.
The irresponsible attitude of many students, however, put the school in immediate danger, since the fire due to the dry grasses and reed found in the area, was quickly extended within the high school area.
There was disruption between teachers and students, but fortunately the immediate force intervention of the Fire Brigade based in the area prevented the worst, before injuries or damage were caused to the premises of the training facility.
Police investigations are continuing.
