Calling on citizens to take care of their pets in heat waves during this period, having them in conditions that do not pose a risk to their health and well-being, says the Party for Animals Cyprus.
This is followed by the party's announcement:
The Cyprus Animal Party wants to inform the citizens that the summer is here and there are changes in climatic conditions – heat wave (such as the increase in temperatures where we now count 40s) oblige us to take measures not only for humans but also for animals whether they are productive or domestic.
We therefore call on citizens to take care of their pets and to keep them in conditions that do not pose a risk to their health and well-being.
Animals also feel pain, heat, cold, hunger, thirst and lack of freedom. For this reason we urge your pets not to leave them on balconies and terraces, not to take them for a walk in the heat wave, to have access to cool water and to be in places that are shaded, to protect them from the heat and the strong sun.
Finally we advise (and it is not difficult) to leave somewhere a bowl of water or food for all the living and creatures of God.
