On the Larnaca –Paralimni Airport motorway, between 13/05/2021 and 30/06/2021,daily except weekends, between the hours of 8:30am. and 5:00 p.m., maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islets, by the Department of Forests. During the work, in a section of the motorway from the Rizoelia Roundabout to Paralimn, the tangent lane of the central islet will be partially closed, from both directions for a length of 1500m. approximately each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Work to care for the greenery of the central islets on motorways of the province of Larnaca, will be carried out during the period 31/05/2021-30/06/2021,by the Department of Forests as follows:
a) Monday to Thursday, between 08:30-17:00, on the Larnaca-Paralimni airport and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways, from the airport roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and then to Nicosia
b) Friday, between 08:30-17:00, on the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway
During the work, the tangent of the central islet lane will be partially closed, from both directions for a length of 1500m. approximately, each time, traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Paphos-Limassol motorway, during the period 2/6/2021 - 2/7/2021, on weekdays between the hours of 8:00am. - 3:00 p.m., in the section from Erimi to Petra tou Romiou, work will be carried out for watering plantations within the central islet by the Department of Forests. During the course of the work, the right lane will be partially closed, in the direction from Limassol to Paphos at a length of about 1000 m and traffic will be channelled into the left lane.
Also on the Paphos-Limassol motorway, between 7/6/2021 and 11/6/2021,between the hours 08:00 - 19:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the motorway tunnel, heading towards Limassol and from 14/6/2021 to 17/6/2021 towards Paphos, from the Department of Electromechanical Services. During the work the tunnel will be closed and traffic before the motorway tunnel will be channelled into oncoming traffic which will operate in two-way traffic.
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday 14 April, 2021 work will be carried out to improve the Kornos junction. The work will take 15 months and concerns on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for entry to the motorway from Korno/ Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno/ Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/ Pyrga to Limassol.
On the bypass road of Germasogeia,work continues to improve the road. Between 8 March 2021 and 19 July 2021,part of Psara Street, at its junction with Agios Georgios Street, will be closed to traffic in both directions. During the work, traffic will be channelled through Agia Paraskevi and Isabella streets and similar roads.
On Nikos & Despinas Pattichi Street, in Limassol, in the section from its confluence with Arch Avenue. Makarios III, until its junction with Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, on Sunday 6/6/2021 and Sunday 13/6/2021,from 05:30 to 20:30, road maintenance work will be carried out. The following arrangements will apply during the course of the work:
- On Sunday 6/6/2021, the ascent with the permitted direction to the City Center will be one way and the traffic to the roundabout of Polemidi will take place through the Avenues Arch. Makarios III and Spyros Kyprianou, the streets of Apostolos Varnavas and Petros Tsiros as well as the secondary road network
- On Sunday 13/7/2021, the descent with the permitted direction towards the roundabout of Polemidi will be one way and the traffic to The City Centre will take place via the Avenues Arch. Makarios III and Spyros Kyprianou, the streets of Apostolos Varnavas and Petros Tsiros as well as the secondary road network
In Nicosia, from Wednesday 19/05/2021,on Digeni Akrita Avenue, heading from the traffic lights of Agios Antonios to the traffic lights of Lycabettus, work will be carried out on the reconstruction of sidewalks and the configuration of parallel parking spaces on the south side of the avenue. For this purpose, one lane will be closed to vehicles. The road is expected to reopen with two lanes at the end of June with its final configuration.
Also in Nicosia, work will be carried out to rebuild the Mark Dragon roundabout from Monday, 17/5/2021 until Friday, 18/6/2021. During the work, traffic within the roundabout will be carried out with a single lane of traffic.
Work will be carried out on Themistocles Dervi Street in Nicosia on Saturday 5/6/2021 between the hours of 6:00am. - 3:00 p.m. During the work, the two traffic lanes of Themistocles Dervi Road towards Gavriilidis Traffic Lights to Nicosia, between Nikokreon and Tykros lanes will be closed and traffic will be diverted to one lane in the opposite direction.
On Makarios Avenue, in Nicosia, from the lights of the Lycabettus Police to the junction with Kalavrita Street, all traffic lanes will be closed due to the replacement of pipelines of the Nicosia Supply Council, which will take place from 05:00 on Friday 04/06/2021 and until 05:00 on Monday 07/06/2021. Drivers heading to the city centre are encouraged to use Naxos Street to get to their destination, while drivers heading to Limassol are encouraged to use Gerasimou Markora Street.
On Salaminos Avenue, in Nicosia, from the junction with Larnaca Avenue, to the junction with Pouli Kapotas Avenue, on Sunday 6/6/21,from 06:00 to 18:00, road repair work will be carried out. During the work, Salaminos Avenue will be closed to a section about 400 metres long and traffic will be traffic through the adjacent lanes.
On Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, in Strovolos, on Friday 4/6/21 from 22:00 – 06:00 on Saturday morning, work will be carried out to repair the road surface of the avenue, from its junction with Constantinople Street to the Tseri Roundabout. During the work the traffic lanes to the Tseri Roundabout will be closed and traffic will be moved through Constantinople Street to Tseri Avenue.
In the nicosia province, from Monday 19/4/21 and for a period of 6months, except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, between 07:00 and 17:00, road repair work will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the work, one lane will be partially closed at a length of approximately 200 metres and traffic will be carried out in the other lane, using a "STOP & GO" sign.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, as part of the construction work of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Centre, during the period 24/4/2021 - 23/10/2021,the eastern road connecting the old Road Nicosia - Limassol with the port of Vasilikos will be closed to traffic police. During the work, traffic to and from Vasilikos will be diverted to the corresponding western road, via Marie, except for vehicles and pedestrians moving to and from similar properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made.
Also on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 27/05/2021-30/07/2021 daily outside weekends, between the hours 07:00-16:00, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines, by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of traffic, the old Nicosia-Limassol road, from the 'Stavrovouni Reservoir' to the pumping station of the TAV in Kofinou, heading towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of 650 meters, approximately) and traffic will be traffic in the next lane, using temporary traffic lights.
On a section of the old Paphos-Limassol road,1100 meters long, from the Diocese of Limassol and up to the exit of the motorway despite the Erimi Bridge, work has begun by a private telecommunications company for cable installation. The work will last until Friday 4/6/2021 and will take place from 07:00 until 16:00 daily except Saturday - Sunday. During the work, the southbound lane towards Limassol will be partially closed at a length of approximately 80 m, traffic will be diverted to the northbound lane and traffic will be managed with the "STOP & GO" system.
Also on a section of the old Paphos-Limassol road, 2800 meters long from the Diocese of Limassol and after the intersection of Colossio to Kastro, the work of a private telecommunications company for cable installation continues. The work will last until Friday 2/7/2021 and will take place from 07:00 until 16:00 daily except weekends and holidays. During the course of the work, the southbound lane towards Limassol will be partially closed at a length of approximately 80 metres, traffic will be diverted to the northbound lane and traffic will be managed with the "STOP & GO" system.
