In view of the upcoming summer season and the increased risks to the road network, the Police announce a period of policing with road checks of motorcycles and mopeds with the ultimate aim of reducing serious and fatal injuries in road traffic collisions during the summer period of June-August, 2021.
The Cyprus road checks will start tomorrow, Tuesday 1 June and last until 31 August, 2021.
Particular attention shall be paid during the checks to the following traffic offences:
- Dangerous driving
- Non-use of protective helmets
- Noisy exhaust
- Change, convert, or customize the machine
- Violation of the speed limit and
- Driving without a driver's license
The Police will also show zero tolerance for other traffic offences that contribute to fatal and serious road collisions.
