An extended meeting under the Mayor of Paphos Phaedon Phaedon in view of the start of construction work for the improvement of Ellados Avenue and parts of the Avenues Evagoras Pallikarides, Neophytou Nikolaidis and Georgios Grivas-Digenis, total expenditure of €9 million, plus VAT, took place today in the Multispace "Atticon".
The aim of the meeting was to coordinate the actions of all the Services involved in order to best perform the project as well as possible, without problems and unnecessary inconvenience to the public. The meeting was attended by representatives of the contractor construction company, the Department of Public Works, the Department of Lands and Surveys, the Department of Urban Planning and Housing, the Directorate of Control of the Ministry of Transport, the Paphos Supply Council, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Traffic Department of the Police Directorate of Paphos, the Department of Forests and officials of the Municipal Services.
Work will begin in July. As part of the implementation of the project, it is planned to create about 300 parking spaces on the Ellados Avenue, as well as dozens of other spaces on the other avenues, the construction of two roundabouts and safe sidewalks, the underground cables of all the Public Utilities tree plantings along the roads and others.
Please note that the terms of the contract for the execution of the project include provisions for the regulation of traffic during the work, while the contractor will have the obligation to ensure access to residential and business premises.
