Filenews 11 June 2021
Free testing programs are continuing with rapid antigen testing of the general population and employees, with a view to continuous surveillance of the community and workplaces.
With a view to the smooth and safe operation of enterprises operating in accordance with the Decrees, employers in enterprises, as well as Heads in Departments/Services of the public and wider public sector have a responsibility to coordinate as employees undergo rapid testing, in order to ensure the mandatory weekly examination with rapid antigen test of at least 50% of staff working with physical presence.
In addition, self-employed persons, as well as persons working as domestic helpers and/or responsible for the care of the elderly or disabled or persons who cannot self-serve, must participate through the programme.
It is understood that the above setting for weekly rapid antigen testing excludes workers who have been vaccinated with the 1st dose of a licensed vaccine and provided that a period of 3 weeks has passed since vaccination. For example, if 20 people work in an enterprise/organisation/part of the public/wider public sector, 12 of whom have received the 1st dose of the vaccine, the obligation to check weekly is for the other 8 persons (4+4).
