Its approval was given by the environmental authority for a project concerning the creation of parking of 227 spaces of which 12 will be for the disabled in the Municipality of Geroskipou of Paphos Province.
The project will serve the users who go to the beach and beach bars that exist in the area. Access to the parking lot will be made as it is today from the beach road Geroskipou while in the future it will be from the northern part since the current road will become a pedestrian street.
The project also includes a children's playground and landscape art with green vegetation.
Parking spaces will be 5.0m in size x 2.5m. while the spaces for the disabled will be 5.0m in size x 3.75m. The playground, which will be located at the eastern end of the project, will occupy an area of approximately 574sq.m and will include various games as normally found in a playground complex, trampolines, springs, etc. In the playground area, elastic safety floors will be installed while the rest of the project will be made of coloured blocks. In the area of the project it is also proposed that about 144 trees be planted.
The proposed project is part of a wider design in the Geroskipou Coastal Area and part of an approved Regulatory Plan which includes a pedestrian street, a bicycle park, outdoor gyms, parking lots, playgrounds
