IMPRESSIVE IMAGES FROM THE EXERCISE ''WINNER-DIMITRA 2021''

The final phase of the national interdisciplinary Tactical Exercise After Troops, TIAS-TAMS "WINNER-DIMITRA -2021, in which all the personnel of the National Guard participate, was attended on Thursday morning by the Minister of Defence Charalambos Petridis from an observatory in the area of Kotsiatis.

Speaking at the end of the final phase of the exercise, he pointed out that "the action I have taken is the culmination of a continuous and laborious effort which is a one-way street to maintain the highest operational readiness".

Mr Petridis, after congratulated all those who participated in the exercise in any way, said that "our country is undoubtedly going through critical moments" and added that "we are at a time particularly marked by Turkey's provocative actions and the dangerous climate created by its aggressive statements and all its behaviour, both against Cyprus and against Greece".

He pointed out that "as the Ministry of Defence we are aware of our responsibility to you and we are making every effort both to take care of the personnel and to maintain and upgrade the capabilities of the National Guard".

The Ministry of Defence said that "exercises like these demonstrate the merit and demonstrate the level of training and morale of the Force" and stressed that the action he attended "is the culmination of a continuous and laborious effort, which is a one-way street to maintain the highest operational readiness".

Referring specifically to the black-and-whites, Mr Petridis said that "we all know that the best weapon system is the one served by the best crew".

"With what you have presented to us today, I feel that once again you have confirmed the deterrent capability of the National Guard and the ability to defend the homeland from any external attack," he added.

In conclusion, Mr. Petridis congratulated the Commander of the Brigade and the Commanders of its Units and wished them every success in the continuation of the exercise and in their work in general.
