Restrictions on the number of people in vehicles from different households has been lifted but they still need to wear masks, according to the latest clarification issued by the transport ministry on Friday.

Following the latest relaxations on restrictions against the spread of coronavirus, the transport ministry said that people from different households may travel in the same private vehicle, depending on its capacity, but must wear a mask.

People only from one household are not obliged to wear a mask when in the same car.

The use of masks continues to be obligatory for people working in public transport but also passengers in taxis and buses, including tourist and shuttle buses.

Restrictions on the number of passengers have also been lifted for public transport and taxis and buses can now operate at full capacity. This also includes airport shuttle buses, school and private buses.

The transport ministry said that health protocols need to be observed both by employees and passengers.

In cases when there is no plexiglass shield in buses for the driver, the seats right behind him or her but also the first seat on the left (the tour-guide’s seat) must remain vacant. Disinfectant must be available in buses for the passengers.

The ministry also advised against crowding during entry and exit from buses. Buses must be disinfected before they start their routes for the day but also at least after every four routes.
