64 NEW CASES - TUESDAY

No deaths of patients with a final cause of death of COVID-19 were recorded today. The Department of Health has announced 64 new cases of the disease.

The total number of deaths remains at 374. 32 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including nine in serious condition.

A total of 35,729 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.

64 (positivity rate: 0.18%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 73,311.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. As a result, the total number of deaths with covid-19 disease remains 374, of which 251 men (67%) have died. and 123 women (33%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 32 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, nine of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the nine patients in serious condition, six are intubated, two are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and one in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 35,729 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,788 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 29,941 using the antigen rapid test, 64 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 12 cases from 248 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 4 cases of 2,899 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 7 cases from 1,706 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 5 cases from 505 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 1 case of 430 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
  • 35 cases from 29,622 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.

In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:

  • 319 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.

37 new incidents in the occupied territories

Thirty-seven new crown cases were announced in the occupied territories on Tuesday out of a total of 9,778 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

One concerns a passenger from abroad, 5 are contacts of a confirmed case and 31 are local infections. The 15 cases of infections in the community were detected in occupied Nicosia, 13 in Kyrenia, 2 in Morfos and 1 in Lefka.

The total number of CASES OF COVID-19 in the occupied territories amounts to 7,622, while 34 people have lost their lives to the disease.
