The Ministry of Health announces that today, 14 June 2021, one person died of coronavirus, while 57 are the new positive cases.
specifically:
- One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 374.
- 30 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 11 of whom are in serious condition.
- A total of 39,852 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 57 (positivity rate: 0.14%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 73,247.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
One person who has died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concerns:
- Male, aged 68, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 374, of which:
- 251 men (67%), and
- 123 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 30 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in the hospitals, 11 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 11 patients in serious condition, eight are intubated and three are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 39,852 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,948 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 33,904 using the antigen rapid test, 57 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 4 cases from 54 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 10 cases from 3,768 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 10 cases from 1,999 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 1 case of 127 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 32 cases out of 33,332 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 572 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
