332 NEW CASES, TUESDAY

332 (positivity rate: 0.67%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by 49,741 tests - molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests - bringing the total number of cases to 75,431.

For more than ten days in a row, no patient deaths were recorded today either, with COVID-19 as a cause of death, so the total number of deaths remains 378.

59 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 20 are in serious condition.

Here are today's results in detail.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 378, of which:

- 254 men (67%), and

- 124 women (33%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 59 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 20 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 20 patients in serious condition, six are intubated, three are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 11 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 49,741 diagnoses currently carried out, 4,918 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 44,823 using the antigen rapid test, 332 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 13 cases from 245 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 4 cases from 1,685 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 56 cases from 2,382 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 2 cases from 273 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 1 case of 333 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
  • 7 cases from 505 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 249 cases from 44,318 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
