A further 169 new cases of COVID-19 disease were announced today by the Ministry of Health, while no patient deaths were recorded.
The total number of deaths remains 378. 41 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 17 of whom are in serious condition.
A total of 42,660 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
169 (positivity rate: 0.40%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 74,343.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 378, of which:
- 254 men (67%), and
- 124 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 41 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 17 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 17 patients in serious condition, nine are intubated, two are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and six are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 42,660 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,222 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 37,438 using the antigen rapid test, 169 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 3 cases from 3,003 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 18 cases from 1,996 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 3 cases from 223 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 5 cases from 576 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 140 cases from 36,862 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.

Forty new incidents in the occupied territories
There were 40 new cases of coronavirus in the occupied territories in the last 24 hours, after 10,787 diagnostic tests.
As broadcast in the occupied territories, in a statement the "Ministry of Health" states that of the 40 new cases, 3 are contacts with a confirmed case and 37 are local infections.
In occupied Nicosia 11 new cases were diagnosed, 17 in Kyrenia, 6 in Famagusta and 3 in Lefka.
The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 7,935 and the deaths at 35.
