EUROPEAN WEEK OF ENLIGHTENMENT - CHECKS ON LORRIES & BUSES - 10-16 May

 

Police are announcing a week of enlightenment and policing with road checks on lorries and buses with the ultimate aim of reducing serious and fatal road traffic injuries.

 

The Cyprus road checks will start tomorrow, Monday 10 May and last until Sunday 16 May, 2021, while they will also be carried out at pan-European level, within the framework of the cooperation of the Cyprus Police with the European Road Traffic Police Network ROADPOL.

 

During the campaign will be checked:

• The documents of drivers and vehicles
• The speed of the vehicle
• Speed limitation devices
• Driving/working hours
• Tachographs (analog and digital devices)
• The mechanical condition of vehicles

 

The Police will show zero tolerance for traffic offences that contribute to fatal and serious road collisions.
