MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR KATO PAPHOS ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

The Society of Tourism Development and Promotion of Paphos region (EETAP Paphos) welcomes the efforts of the Department of Antiquities to protect and upgrade the presentation of the priceless archaeological wealth of Paphos. In particular, the Department of Antiquities has been preparing a management plan for the Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings. It has replaced all the fencing in the Archaeological Sites of Nea Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings, completed the maintenance and restoration of the traditional House on the hill of Fabrika, and soon the maintenance work of the traditional House near Dionysos house in Nea Paphos will be completed.

"At the same time, maintenance work is being carried out on the Visitor Centre in Nea Paphos and a renovation is expected later this year, while maintenance work is continuing on the Four Seasons House, the Triton Baths, the Roman House east of Dionysos House and the Aphrodite Mosaic," the EFF says. " A security system is expected to be put in place at the Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos later this year, while planning for the installation of security systems will be completed and at the Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings. Planning for renovation of the sanitary areas of the Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos will also be completed in 2021".

In addition, as stated in the Communication, the Paphos EFF has recently completed a specific action plan that included the installation of touch screens, the creation of informational videos, a digital application for smart devices as well as audio-visual tour services. At the same time, the installation of free internet infrastructure has been completed throughout the Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos. "All the above actions are in line with the provisions of the management plan of the archaeological park and are expected to contribute to the efforts made by various bodies with regard to the further promotion and promotion of the archaeological heritage of the province, but also to the upgrading of the visitor experience".
