 Filenews 6 May 2021

The Governments of Cyprus and Bahrain have reached an agreement on the mutual recognition of vaccinations and the green passport, which is the first of its kind between the two states.

According to diplomatic sources, this agreement was reached following recent talks between Bahrain and Cyprus and communication between the two countries' Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health.

The agreement provides that persons who have been vaccinated in both countries and who have received vaccines recognised in the other country will be excluded from the procedures and protocols followed on arrival related to Covid-19.

The recognition process will take place digitally, and will greatly facilitate entry to both countries and is expected to promote tourism, trade and economic relations between the two countries, according to the same sources.
