In the context of the continuous modernisation and upgrading of the Police, with the aim of responding in the best possible way to the multiple and multidimensional requirements of the modern era, the Police proceeded to grant a Police Badge to its members.
The Police Badge is a symbol for members of the Police in which the principles of honour, self-sacrifice, purpose and mission of those who carry it are represented.
For this reason and for the distinct recognition of the police status of a member, as a prerequisite for the successful and safe performance of his duties, a Police Badge has been prepared by the Cyprus Police, which will be issued to all members of the Police and transferred to a special case along with their identity card.
The Police ID along with its case, which bears a metal badge with the emblem of the Police and the name of the member, are an important part of the dependence of the member of the Police, since they allow the public and other members of the Police to immediately and without delay identify the police membership that does not carry a uniform.
The adoption of the Police Signal fills the gap that existed over time in the Cyprus Police for the recognition of its members, while at the same time contributing to the exaltation and development of their morale.
