75 NEW CASES AND ONE DEATH, SUNDAY

One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 354. 75 cases have been detected from 60,508 coronavirus detection tests. analytically:

  • One person lost his life.
  • 115 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 42 of whom are in serious condition.
  • A total of 60,508 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
  • 75 (positivity rate: 0.12%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 71,911.

Here are today's results in detail.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

One person who has died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concerns:

  • Man, aged 91, who ended up in Famagusta General Hospital.

Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 354, of which:

  • 235 men (66%), and
  • 119 women (34%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 115 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 42 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 42 patients in serious condition, 26 are intubated, four are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 12 are in an Increased Care Unit.

In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 60,508 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,146 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 55,362 using the antigen rapid test, 75 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 13 cases from 223 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 6 cases from 3,845 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 10 cases from 565 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 1 case of 176 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos Tylliria.
  • 45 cases from 55,127 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.

In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:

  • 65 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 272 samples taken under the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 235 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.

In detail, the rapid antigen detection tests were carried out today as follows:
