The Ministry of Health announces that today, May 28, 2021, a woman and two men were "erased" due to a crown. Also 73 are the new cases.
specifically:
- Three people have died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 360.
- 78 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 31 are in serious condition.
- A total of 62,125 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 73 (positivity rate: 0.12%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 72,307.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
Individuals who have died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- Woman, aged 60, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 71, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 77, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 360, of which:
- 240 men (67%), and
- 120 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 78 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 31 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 31 patients in serious condition, 16 are intubated, seven are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and eight are in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 62,125 diagnoses currently carried out, 6,209 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 55,916 using the antigen rapid test, 73 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 17 cases from 295 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 5 cases from 3,014 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 13 cases from 2,233 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 9 cases from 323 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1 case of 189 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
- 1 case of 755 samples examined using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 27 cases out of 55,161 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 155 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos, Tylliria.
