Another death was recorded in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus and only 58 new positive cases were announced due to reduced tests.
Specific:
- One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 314.
- 292 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 72 of whom are in serious condition. The median age of the hospitalized is 58.6 years.
- A total of 6,158 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 58 (positivity rate: 0.94%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 66,430.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
One person who has died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concerns:
- Male, aged 56, with no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 314, of which:
- 207 men (66%), and
- 107 women (34%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 292 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 72 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 72 patients critical, 29 are intubated, eight are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 35 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 6,158 diagnoses currently carried out, 6,112 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 46 with the antigen rapid test, 58 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 4 cases of 5,008 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 39 cases from 755 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 14 cases from 349 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1 case of 46 samples examined using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
