At 56 on Saturday, the new cases of coronavirus detected through molecular tests and rapid antigen detection diagnoses (rapid test). It is worth noting that no deaths of patients with a final cause of death of COVID-19 were recorded today, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 360.
In total:
- 74 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 30 are in serious condition.
- A total of 56,456 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 360, of which:
- 240 men (67%), and
- 120 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.\
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 74 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 30 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 30 patients in serious condition, 18 are intubated, five are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and seven are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 56,456 diagnoses currently carried out, 4,764 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 51,692 using the antigen rapid test, 56 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 1 case of 79 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 4 cases of 2,960 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 11 cases from 1,535 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 1 case of 111 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1 case of 57 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and Special Teams Control through Public Health Clinics.
- 2 cases from 447 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 36 cases out of 51,245 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 22 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos, Tylliria.
