Moving forward with the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19, and increasing the rate of vaccinations in order to achieve as soon as possible coverage and immunity of a significant percentage of the population, the Ministry of Health announces that on Monday, April 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., priority for arranging vaccination appointments will be given to people aged 43 and 44 years only. Vaccinations will be carried out in Vaccination Centres operating in all Provinces. Next week the Vaccination Portal will also open for other age groups and more details will be given at a later stage.
At the same time, vaccinations of persons falling within essential services, as approved by a special committee set up for this purpose, are progressing rapidly.
It is also noted that the process of expression of interest is under way by The Personal Physicians who wish to do so in order to be given AstraZeneca vaccines to vaccinate their beneficiaries aged 30 years and over.
It is recalled that, with a view to the entry into force from tomorrow of the measures decided by the Council of Ministers, it is not necessary to send a text message for the purpose of going to a Vaccination Centre, provided that the necessary evidence (form, text message, Vaccination Card) is presented for control purposes. In addition, for those individuals who have completed their vaccination regimen with any of the available licensed vaccines and a period of 14 days has passed since receiving the last dose, the following applies:
• No mandatory self-limit is required if these individuals are considered close case contact.
• Excludes the obligation to check weekly with a rapid test.
As of 23 April, a total of 236,265 vaccinations (26.8 doses per 100 inhabitants) were carried out, of which 176,082 (20%) were carried out. 1st dose and 60,183 (6.8%) administration of both doses.
