Music Lovers Cultural Association needs your help!
With the imminent departure of our long-serving and much-appreciated President and Treasurer, we now need people to fill these roles. Neither role involves organising concerts or even attending events, as we have plenty of volunteers to sell tickets and the Founder, Andrew Oliver, continues with the creative side: booking artistes and arranging publicity.
The President and Treasurer are administrative roles
mostly accomplished online, so can be handled from anywhere. However, these
roles need to be filled by people with a Cyprus residents permit, because they
need to be Board Members and to do that, they need to complete a simple Police
check, which requires the permit. The main requirement is the desire to promote
our objectives, which are to support the arts in Paphos.
The Treasurer is
responsible for basic bookkeeping, using a simple spread-sheet of their choice,
recording ticket revenue and payments to musicians and venues etc, producing
short financial reports, keeping petty cash and operating a bank account. The
President is concerned with the Constitution; keeping us legal and safe, with
the help of our lawyer, together with sponsorship proposals, fund-raising
applications and contracts, so would suit someone with a administrative or business
background. The President also assists in securing volunteers to attend
events.
