Summer is just around the corner and the Municipality of Geroskipou has already started the cleaning and upgrading of the Municipal Beach, in view of the arrival of local and foreign visitors. The competent services of the Local Authority, are currently carrying out extensive cleaning of the coast of Geroskipou, methodically removing the seaweed as well as the various garbage that accumulates during the winter season in order to deliver sea and beaches clean and safe to bathers.
In addition, the services of the Municipality, have also proceeded to the repair and maintenance of the sanitary areas for the safety and comfort of the people who will use the beach.
As part of the effort to upgrade services on the beach of Geroskipou and by supporting in practice the accessibility of people with mobility difficulties, facilities continue to be provided for people in wheelchairs or reduced mobility. In addition to the installation of plastic corridors that allow the wheelchair user to move up to the sea to swim as well as the sanitary and parking areas for use by people with disabilities (disabled), the Municipality has also proceeded to purchase a new floating wheelchair which is already available.
The goal of the Municipality of Geroskipou, say the officials of the municipal authority, remains the natural upgrading and renewal of the beaches of the area in order to make them again tempting and beautiful for the expected visitors of the summer season.
