Four people have died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 288, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
270 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 65 of whom are in serious condition. 786 (positivity rate: 1.38%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by 57,138 detection tests - molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test - bringing the total number of cases to 55,407.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The four people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- Woman, aged 47, with underlying diseases, no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 71, with underlying diseases, with a history of vaccination (1st dose), who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Woman, aged 80, with underlying diseases, without a history of vaccination, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
- Male, aged 88, with underlying diseases, with no history of vaccination, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 288, of which:
- 189 men (66%), and
- 99 women (34%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 270 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 65 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 65 patients critical, 31 are intubated, six are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 28 are in an Increased Care Unit.
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 57,138 diagnoses currently carried out, 6,058 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 51,080 using the antigen rapid test, 786 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 97 cases out of 1,063 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 3 cases from 1,571 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 161 cases from 3,050 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 14 cases from 191 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 183 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through public health clinics.
- 41 cases from 1,182 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 468 cases from 49,898 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
468 positive results were obtained from 49,898 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
As recorded in the table, incidents were also detected in nursing homes, closed structures and athletes.
