470 NEW CASES, SUNDAY

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 11 April 2021, 470 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded, and no deaths have occurred in our fellow citizen.

Specific:

  • No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 272.
  • 225 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 57 of whom are in serious condition.
  • A total of 55,096 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
  • 470 (positivity rate: 0.85%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 51,505.

Here are today's results in detail.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 272, of which:

  • 179 men (66%), and
  • 93 women (34%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 225 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 57 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 57 patients critical, 31 are intubated, two are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 24 are in an Increased Care Unit.

In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 55,096 diagnoses currently carried out, 2,546 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 52,550 using the antigen rapid test, 470 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 94 cases from 778 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 80 cases from 1,404 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 14 cases from 140 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 1 case of 224 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 2 cases from 71 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 279 cases out of 52,479 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
