Four people died due to coronavirus, while the new positive cases reached 309, according to the Ministry of Health.
Specific:
- Four people have died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 260.
- 190 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 46 are in serious condition.
A total of 43,914 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 309 (positivity rate: 0.70%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 46,173.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The four people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- Man, aged 87, with underlying diseases, no history of vaccination who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
- Male, aged 62, with underlying diseases, no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 47, with an underlying disease, with no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 79, with underlying diseases, no history of vaccination, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 260, of which:
- 173 men (67%), and
- 87 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 190 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 46 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 46 patients critical, 22 are intubated, five are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 19 are in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 43,914 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 1,436 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 42,478 using the antigen rapid test, 309 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
• 58 cases from 1,234 samples taken through a private initiative. • 7 cases from 202 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals. • 244 cases from 42,422 samples examined using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
• 56 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
