People aged 61 years and over will be able to arrange appointments for vaccination against COVID-19. The Vaccination Portal will be available for this age group from tomorrow, April 7, at 8 a.m., until Thursday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Specifically, 19,378 appointments will be available at all Vaccination Centres in all districts. The National Vaccination Plan
proceeds on the basis of the planning and focuses on both the vaccination of
the general population based on age criteria and on the priority vaccination
of individuals belonging to the vulnerable groups of the population. By 5
April 165.116 vaccinations have been administered, of which 117.615 concern
the 1st doseof the vaccine and 47.501 concern both doses.7.577
people belonging to vulnerable groups received the 1st dose of the
vaccine, while 548 home vaccinations were administered to bed-ridden people. In relation to vaccination coverage,
81.65% of people aged 80 and over have been vaccinated with at least the 1st
dose, while 76.34% of people in the 70-79 age group have received at least
the 1st dose of the vaccine. It is recalled that older people than
the age group which has priority in each opening of the Vaccination Portal
also have access and can schedule appointments. According to the information on
the quantities of the three authorised vaccines estimated to be dispatched in
the next few days, it is expected that the vaccination of vulnerable groups,
with at least the 1st dose, will be completed in April and that
the vaccination coverage will proceed based on age criteria with the aim of
administering by the beginning of May at least the 1st dose of the
