REGENERATION PROJECTS OF €2.7m IN LATCHI

In major renovation projects of Latchi, the Municipality of Chrysochous Town is proceeding which estimates that it will cost 2.7 million euros and last 52 months. The aim is to enhance the aesthetic image, connectivity, accessibility and functionality of Latchi as well as its functional and aesthetic connection with the wider area and especially the beach and the creation of a space with many opportunities of entertainment and with a variety of uses.

The project includes the completion of the design and construction of the road to Neo Chorio, as well as the redevelopment of the area of Latchi including the road around the warehouses of the Port Authority. It also includes the demolition of existing structures and the creation of dining areas in front of "Porto Latsi" and the development of a state-owned piece in the same area in a car park.

In particular, the reconstruction of the internal coastal road, the reconstruction of the central part of the road leading to the port and the beach in the centre of Latchi, the creation of the parking area of 1,900 sq.m. measures and the regeneration of the coastal front, which requires almost 40% of the total budget.

Already, a competition has been launched for the selection of consultants who will undertake the detailed planning of the redevelopment, at a cost of 5% of the cost of the project, from which final detailed planning is requested.

According to the technical provisions, the elements of the project should include dining areas, road, pedestrian and bicycle path, small platforms, living rooms, light roofs and urban equipment and tree planting with selection of suitable species of flora.

It is also envisaged that ramps and ladders should be set up where necessary, sanitary areas, parking spaces and road lighting, as well as all infrastructures, i.e. a water supply and electricity network, a rainwater management system and a wastewater management system.

Therefore, according to the requirements of the municipality, for consultant scholars the team that will undertake the project must include experienced architect, civil engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, quantity meter, surveyor engineer and safety and health coordinator.
