A Mputtallos resident who, according to the Police, regularly is of interest to the authorities in various cases, was arrested on Wednesday night by the Police on suspicion of involvement in the case of a hit and run car accident in which two 14-year-olds were injured.
Police were led to the person in question after witnessing a specific type of vehicle seen at the scene at the time of the accident. Authorities found that the vehicle in question was registered in the name of the arrested man's mother as a suspect, but during the investigations she expressed ignorance of the vehicle's whereabouts.
After the arrest of the owner's son, the examinations continue after the vehicle's parts, such as a broken light and a mirror, were found at the scene.
The two 14-year-olds who were hit while on the road are being treated at Paphos Hospital, with one of them being more seriously injured having suffered fractures to various parts of his body.
