The City of Dreams Mediterranean, the first and only licensed multi-thematic resort in Cyprus and the largest in Europe and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, is on its way to completion. Construction projects are progressing smoothly, with the multi-themed resort expected to open its doors in the summer of 2022.
The progress of the project is illustrated through an impressive video with aerial footage of the City of Dreams Mediterranean, from a drone. The video offers a panoramic view of the exterior of the multi-thematic resort as well as the surrounding area, reflecting the rapid development of the construction works of the main building while at the same time, it includes impressive images of the interior and exterior spaces, as they will be formed after the completion of the project.
After its completion, the flagship project, located in Limassol, will be the largest and most luxurious multi-themed resort in Europe. It will feature a 16-storey 5-star hotel with more than 500 luxurious rooms and suites, conference and exhibition spaces of about 10,000 sq.m., an outdoor amphitheatre, adventure park, dining areas and luxury shops. Its interior design will be based on Melco's international luxury standards, which have been specially adapted for the multi-thematic resort of Cyprus, while the exterior design of the project will have a strong Mediterranean character.
The General Manager of City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos "C2", Grant Johnson, said: "Construction work is progressing smoothly and although the Covid-19 outbreak has affected our original schedule, we remain committed to the implementation of this pioneering project, while focusing on the implementation of Melco's high standards of excellence. Our goal is to create a unique destination, offering an excellent entertainment experience to our visitors, while creating real value for the economy and society of the country. The operation of the City of Dreams Mediterranean is expected to enrich the tourist product of Cyprus, attracting 300,000 additional visitors per year. We are confident that the project will make a substantial contribution to reducing seasonality, creating thousands of jobs."
