A new name, but without any other substantial change, has acquired the Vaccine of the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford. Since March 26 it is now called Vaxzevria.
Changes to the name of the preparation, vaxzevria, have already been made on the website of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), accompanied by the same markings that existed for this vaccine, the use of which was temporarily and as a precaution banned in many European states at the beginning of March due to fears of thrombosis.
However, in the middle of the month, the EMA ruled that the AstraZeneca vaccine is "safe and effective". Describing cases of thrombosis as very rare, he said this preparation was "not associated" with an increased risk of thromboembolism. And he stressed that the benefits outweigh any potential risks.
