7,500 VACCINATIONS IN CYPRUS POSTPONED UNTIL AT LEAST THURSDAY

 Filenews 16 March 2021

Up to Thursday, 7,500 vaccinations are postponed in Cyprus, which were scheduled to be carried out with the AstraZeneca vaccine and which are expected to be reprogrammed thereafter.

It is recalled that one after the other, the countries of the European Union are suspending the administration of AstraZeneca vaccine to their citizens, due to reports recorded in recent times concerning the occurrence of clots in people after vaccination, while in Cyprus the competent authorities are on alert awaiting full information and the completion of the ongoing investigation at both European and national level in order to take their decisions.

According to information provided by the "F" for Cyprus, people who have been vaccinated with this vaccine are already under surveillance and it is not excluded that announcements will be made in the next few hours.

As we are informed and despite the fact that no mention is currently made by the pharmaceutical services of the Ministry of Health and at least one incident has been recorded in Cyprus, but it is still under investigation.

However, AstraZeneca announced that it had carried out a check on people vaccinated with its vaccine, which showed that there was no evidence of an increased risk of developing blood clots.
