No patient deaths were recorded today, Thursday, with a final cause of death of COVID-19and therefore the total number of deaths remains 241, According to a communication from the Ministry of Health. 385 (positivity rate: 0.84%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test.
In particular, according to the Communication:
- 212 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 43 of whom are in serious condition.
- A total of 45,598 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 385 (positivity rate: 0.84%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 41,111.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 241, of which:
- 160 men (66%), and
- 81 women (34%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 212 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 43 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 43 patients critical, 16 are intubated, seven are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 20 are in an Increased Care Unit.
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 45,598 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 3,243 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 42,355 using the antigen rapid test, 385 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 134 cases from 856 samples taken through the process of tracing close contacts (primary contacts) cases.
- 3 cases from 532 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 61 cases from 1,484 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 8 cases from 288 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 13 cases from 571 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 166 cases from 41,784 samples examined using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
83 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
