The House unanimously adopted regulations establishing a regulatory framework for the way animal premises operate.
The objective is to ensure the welfare of the animals hosted there and of the species and categories of animals which may be sold and/or held.
Among other things, the species and categories of animals that can be sold or held, the procedure and conditions for authorising the operation of a premises and the specifications and requirements for the conservation areas and animal welfare in those premises, for the staff employed in them, and for the keeping of records and registers of premises and animals.
