Massive, all peaceful and with a pulse was today's mobilisation of the "As Damai" platform, following last Saturday's event, which was marked by incidents and the use of force, which raised a storm of reactions.
Today's event was attended by thousands of citizens from organized groups and groups belonging to the platform, but also people who just wanted to demonstrate their indignation. Participants with banners and slogans gathered around 4 p.m. in the park at the Kolokasi opening and marched towards the Parliament building, making a short stop there, on the side side and continued towards the Museum and the Statue of Mark Dragon, returning to the starting point.
There the march broke up with the organizers making constant calls for peaceful dissolution, with distances, order and security.
Throughout the course there were no aberrations at all, with participants keeping their distance and wearing their masks. There have been constant calls from the loudspeakers for the health measures to be respected.
Participants chanted various slogans such as "down the conflict", "down corruption", "down to police violence", "resign", some also against parties, in favour of public health and against police violence. Others threw leaflets with slogans such as 'the enemy is the banks', while the slogan 'on the way to breaking terror' was also heard. There were banners with slogans and in Turkish.
The finish at the Kolokasi opening was accompanied by prolonged applause.
The photo lens of the photojournalists recorded minute by minute the peaceful march in Nicosia.
