NON EU CITIZENS BANNED FROM CROSSING TO THE TRNC [but third country citizens with a residence permit can pass to the North]

South Cyprus has imposed a ban on North Cyprus for citizens of non-EU countries who come to the island and the necessary notification has been made to passengers at the airport.

The Maraş initiative was effective in making this decision and that it was among those spoken in the political lobby in the south.

According to this order, which was also hung at the border gates recently, citizens of non-EU countries will be prevented from crossing, especially Israeli, Russian and British citizens.

Citizens in question will not be able to leave Cyprus from Larnaca or Paphos airport if they pass north through the Beyarmudu gate under SPA control.

British citizens leaving the EU will also be allowed to cross to the north until March, and after March, British citizens will be prohibited from crossing to the TRNC arriving from Larnaca or Paphos airport, and in the same way, if they cross from the Beyarmudu SPA security point to the North. they cannot leave Cyprus via Larnaca or Paphos airport.

In the decision taken, it was stated that only third-country citizens with a residence permit can pass to North Cyprus.
