Lately the Police have been receiving complaints from citizens about online fraud and blocking of accounts on various social networking platforms as well as in communication applications. This type of fraud seems to be on the rise.
Specifically, they deftly send misleading messages with the ultimate aim of receiving confirmation codes and breaching accounts on various social media platforms. After they control an account, they use it to trick people in their contacts into getting their confirmation code, too.
The public is invited to be particularly careful in such messages and under no circumstances to send any code to any person. Recipients, if in doubt, verify the origin of any message they consider suspicious. The public is encouraged to maximise the security of their electronic accounts.
