Filenews 16 February 2021
On the basis of the ministry of health's plans and having prioritised protection through vaccination of groups at increased risk of serious disease and needing hospital treatment, vaccination of the elderly has been prioritised.
To achieve the planning, from tomorrow, February 17th, at 9 a.m., 9,096 vaccination appointments will be made available through the Vaccination Portal for people aged 74 and over for the Vaccination Centres operating in all Provinces.
In order to avoid discomfort and confusion in the Vaccination Centres, and because it has been observed that in some cases citizens come much earlier than their scheduled appointment, the Ministry makes a strong appeal that people who will be vaccinated go to the Vaccination Centres at the scheduled time of their appointment and not earlier.
It is recommended that citizens who fall into the age sub-group that has priority for vaccination, arrange an appointment on the first time available day and time, so that there is a continuous flow to the Vaccination Centres.
It is recalled that depending on the rate of exhaustion of appointments for people over the age of 74, citizens will be informed by means of a communication on the availability of appointments to subsequent age groups. Citizens are invited to follow the announcements of the Ministry of Health, so that they know the differences in the age group and make an appointment arrangement.
