CYPRUS' POSITION ON VACCINE FORECASTS

 Filenews 1 February 2021

No EU Member State has achieved the target for vaccinations against coronavirus, which is up to 70% by mid-summer.

The Website Politico has predicted vaccinations, with Cyprus at fairly low levels, since if it continues at the same rate, by the beginning of September only 20% of the general population will have been vaccinated.

In the table below, you record the forecast of the percentage vaccinated by the end of September if the vaccine doses given to the Member States remain at the same level as at present.

The average dose of vaccines depending on the population of Cyprus.

Number of daily doses required to vaccinate 70% of the general population by 22 September and the date on which this target will be achieved if the current vaccination rate continues. If it continues with the current flow of vaccines, Cyprus is expected to reach its target in July 2023.

Total number of doses administered per 100 people in EU countries and in the UK since the start of the vaccine's availability to date. Cyprus is currently in 14th place.
