Filenews 5 February 2021
A large decrease in epidemiological indicators continues to be recorded in all Provinces, particularly with regard to the cumulative incidence of the virus in the community (183 cases/100.00 from 243.8 cases/100,000 in the previous period). However, it remains above the safety limit set by ECDC, i.e. 150 incidents /100,000.
In addition, the positivity rate moves downwards in the general population, taking into account antigenic tests and PCRs. Particularly with regard to rapid tests, the weekly positivity rate is below 1%. At the same time, the burden on the Health System continues, including the Intensive Care Units, despite a slight decrease in the number of nurses.
According to the Ministry of Health, although the rate of spread of the virus appears to have been significantly controlled, transmissions are still present. In view of the reopening of more economic sectors from 8 February, attention is focused on limiting transmissions by complying with health protocols and increased tests to prevent a new outbreak of cases and hospitalizations.
