€2,000, 6 PENALTY POINTS AND 2 MONTHS LOSS OF LICENCE FOR 20 YEAR-OLD 'SCHUMACHER'

The Larnaca District Court today imposed a fine of 2 thousand euros, 6 penalty points and two months of licence deprivation on a 20-year-old boy who was found on 13 February driving a car at twice the speed of normal.

According to the Police on the evening of 13 February, members of the Road Accident Prevention Team of the Police Headquarters, stopped for inspection on the Nicosia – Larnaca motorway a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man.

The young man was driving at a speed of 197 kilometres per hour instead of 100 which is the permitted limit and was arrested for a felony.

The 20-year-old was charged in writing and released, and today appeared before the Larnaca District Court, which fined him €2,000, six penalty points and two months deprivation of his licence.
