One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 231, while 143 new cases of COVID-19 disease were detected today Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Health.
81 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 25 are in serious condition.
A total of 26,603 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
143 (positivity rate: 0.54%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 33,710.
It is worth noting that 51 of the total 74 positive cases detected by the rapid antigen detection tests are in Limassol, where the positivity rate has risen to 0.65%.
One person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 is a woman, aged 86, with underlying diseases, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 231, of which: 154 men (67%), and 77 women (33%).
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 81 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 25 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 25 patients critical, 11 are intubated, five are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and nine in an Increased Care Unit.

Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 26,603 laboratory diagnoses carried out today, 1,694 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 24,909 using the antigen rapid test, 143 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 49 cases from 283 samples taken through the process of tracing close contacts (primary contacts) cases.
 - 2 cases from 54 samples taken through the secondary case contact tracing process.
 - 12 cases from 698 samples taken through a private initiative.
 - 4 cases from 406 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
 - 2 cases from 202 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories.
 - 74 cases from 24,707 samples examined using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
 
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 250 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
 - 3 samples taken as part of a check by the Cyprus Basketball Federation and the Cyprus Volleyball Federation.

At 49 cases in the occupied
Forty-nine cases, 29 within the community, were recorded today in the occupied territories, out of 5,143 diagnostic tests. As transmitted from the occupied territories, one person came out of intensive care where there are another 4, while 40 were discharged.
One person, who came by sea and seven by air, was found infected with the virus, while 12 were contacts of cases and were in isolation.
The "Ministry of Health" in its announcement of the cases observes that with the partial lifting of restrictions there is overcrowding in supermarkets and retail outlets noting that unnecessary travel without any real need will have negative effects.
The new "health minister", Unal Ustel, asked the public to keep their distance and wear masks.
Geographically, 18 cases were detected in Nicosia, 21 in Kyrenia, one in Famagusta, one in occupied Trikomou.
The total number of tests to date is 521,814, the total number of cases 3,297 and the total number of victims 23. A total of 356 people are being treated and monitored
