The death of a person from COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 222 and 113 new cases of COVID-19 disease (positivity rate: 0.32%), the Ministry of Health announced on Monday.
According to the Ministry of Health, 86 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 25 in serious condition.
A total of 35,164 molecular (PCR) and antigen rapid test tests have been carried out, of which 113 new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified (positivity rate: 0.32%), bringing the total number of cases to 32,626.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
One person who has died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concerns:
- Woman, aged 86, with underlying diseases, who ended up in Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 222, of which:
- 149 men (67%), and
- 73 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 86 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 25 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 25 patients critical, 10 are intubated, 10 are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and five in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 35,164 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 2,066 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 33,098 using the antigen rapid test, 113 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 34 cases from 311 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 2 cases from 803 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 8 cases from 470 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 3 cases from 263 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 526 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories.
- 64 cases from 32,572 samples tested using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 219 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
In detail, the rapid antigen detection tests were carried out today as follows:
Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ammochostos, Nursing Homes [Nicosia & Larnaca], Industrial areas/Factories, Police, National Guard, Special Schools
