Vaccinations of people over 80 years of age began today at Paphos General Hospital, according to the Director of the General Hospital of Paphos, Dr Spyros Georgiou. In a statement to reporters, Dr . Georgiou said that "today vaccinations have started for people over 80 years of age who have been enrolled in the platform of the Ministry of Health and so continue".
He also appealed to the whole world to be vaccinated because only by vaccination will we be able to defeat the coronavirus and this pandemic, he added.
He also congratulated the team on the organization and operation of the vaccination department, noting that "people have responded positively and are here."
In relation to his vaccination yesterday and his personal experience, Dr Georgiou mentioned that in April he had become ill with the coronavirus and as he said characteristically, "I had gone to St. Peter's and come back" . So he went on, deciding that he needed to be vaccinated despite the fact that, as he said, he may have had antibodies, since he added "the battle is for everyone."
