VACCINATIONS - PORTAL OPENS 9AM 18 JANUARY - FOR APPOINTMENTS 25-29 January [Over 80s only at this stage]

 Filenews 12 January 2021

Available next Monday, January 18, 2021, from 9 a.m., will be the next appointments for vaccinations against coronavirus. The appointments, which will be arranged through the Vaccination Portal, are addressed to people over the age of 80 and vaccinations will take place in the week of 25 - 29 January.

It is clarified that for the purposes of monitoring and availability of vaccines in local Vaccination Centres, it is not possible to vaccinate people who have not arranged an appointment in advance.

The strategy adopted by the Ministry of Health focuses on the practice of making immediate allocation of doses received on a weekly basis for vaccination of citizens, based on the hierarchy of population groups made in accordance with the recommendations of the European Centre for Infection Control and Prevention (ECDC). It should be noted that the method of administration of available vaccines immediately upon receipt allows for faster coverage of population groups at increased risk for serious disease and in the medium term will contribute to the reduction of nurses and the decongestion of the health system.

The implementation of the Cyprus vaccination plan continues with a strong and encouraging response. Citizens' massive interest in vaccination demonstrates their determination to protect their health and help protect public health, which will allow them to exit the health crisis.
