Around 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon, a civilian spotted a drone flying in an area of Nicosia.
The unmanned aircraft followed a downward path and landed near the civilian who stopped it and alerted the police, after a suspicious object was hanging from it.
Members of the YKAN (Nicosia Branch) and the Bomb Squad went to the site where during the examinations they found that the suspicious object was a cylindrical package containing dry cannabis plant material weighing approximately 60 grams.
Both the unmanned flight instrument and the drugs were taken for further testing. YKAN (Nicosia Branch) continues the examinations.
