JET2 LAUNCHES 2021 SUMMER PROGRAMME WITH FLIGHTS TO CYPRUS

Cyprus Mail 8 January 2021 - by Andrew Rosenbaum

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have placed their summer 2021 flight and holiday programmes on sale early, as customers are demanding to “”to get some much-needed sunshine booked into their diaries,” the airline says in a statement on Friday.

Currently, flights to Larnaca and Paphos from all UK bases are as low as £30 pounds one-way, and the airline is offering 10 per cent off all published fares. Baggage is included on most fares, and children fly free.

Prices for one-way flights in 2021 are much higher, however, starting at £77 from London to Paphos and ranging above £300 for some trips. Round-trip flights are priced at a similar level per flight.

Jet2 ends its fiscal year on March 31, so it was still profitable as of its fourth quarter. Profit had fallen off sharply by July 2020, according to its half-year report, however the budget airline, which specialises in holidays, did not fall into the red as did many of its competitors.

Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive, said: “After much uncertainty, the positive news about a vaccine, coupled with a real desire to get away, means we are seeing strong demand from holidaymakers wanting to plan and book future holidays.

“As always, we respond to what our customers and independent travel agency partners are telling us, so we have put summer 2021 on sale from all 10 of our UK bases meaning we’re on sale with our summer programme earlier than ever before.”

In total, the programme features 339 routes departing Jet2.com’s 10 UK bases, including three additions at the airline and operator’s new Bristol base, where Jet2.com flights are provisionally scheduled to launch on 1 April.

New additions to Jet2.com’s Bristol route network for 2022 include Alicante, Bodrum and Dubrovnik. Edinburgh, meanwhile, will gain three new Greek routes – Skiathos, Santorini and Preveza.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ full schedule spans the Canaries, Balearics, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Cyprus, Croatia and Portugal, with further announcements to follow over the coming weeks.
